Cuckoo Forest School

Dear Friends, 

Cuckoo continues its journey with the environment, hand in hand with children and the community, with the possibility of building  a cradle, a forest school for children from all sections of society and home for the elderly,  A space of inspiration, learning and truth nestled within the red soil of the Jawadhu Hills. Initially the school will priortise the indigenous tribal people of that area. A Outside of mainstream society and inside the forest we are able to observe the richness of nature and the wisdom that streams through the land. The classroom will be the forest and the hills, the animals, insects, reptiles, trees and plants and the seasons. In essence we will learn from the harmony and wisdom that underpins all of life and death, the greatest field, a united field

o  A place to watch  a seed grow;  smell the earth in which it lives.

o  A place to listen to the wind; feel it play on the skin

o  A place to run along with the clear mountain stream

o  A place to lay back and admire the endless blue sky

o  A place to bask in the sting of the sun of the skin

o  A place to be one with the five elements; to be one with Nature.

Forest School will be sculptured into the environment, not taking away, simply resonating with nature which will allow the sun to rise within our children, broadening their horizons beyond that of simply maths, science and history thus awakening their spirit to the inherent beauty and perfection of life. The butterfly that emerges from the cocoon, the bud that blossoms into the flower or the lightening that strokes the mushroom into life. The children will witness and learn to recognize the natural wonder that springs the forest into life, the “Innermost truth”, and in doing so honour that innermost truth that exists within each and everyone of us.

The space will be a haven and also a source of new growth for the elderly giving the children a chance to be inspired and to inspire in return. Not only will this allow the elderly who have been neglected a chance to flow with life but it will also allow the children to give freely their flavour of love and compassion.

Forest School and Haven for the Elderly is not just for now but for all time. The footprints we make today will be carried forward to future generations as the children and their children and their children take flight into the world, with their hearts beating its innermost truth, their wings responding to the wind of the soul and their true colours adding to the rainbow that is life.

For this resounding step in our journey to be taken we will need to become guardians of the land, acquiring natural materials to co-create the space and to nurture it as it grows. We are investing not only in our children & the elderly & future life but also in recognizing, nurturing and honouring the environment and the inherent beauty that flows through every life form.
